We are doing our best to offer you a safe platform for buying and selling but it is always best to be extra cautious when it comes to sharing your personal details with other users or clicking on suspicious links. There is NO need for additional transactions when buying or selling in Yaga and absolutely NO need to share any personal details with other user via Yaga chat. Do not copy or enter suspicious links into your browser, nor add your personal details (especially not your bank card details) to any suspicious web pages nor Yaga chat.
When someone makes a purchase from your Yaga shop or you make a purchase as a Buyer, you will receive an in-app notification about it (bell icon next to the envelope icon), an email order confirmation from a @yaga.co.ke email address, and additionally, you will see the transaction in your Yaga wallet (Menu —> My wallet). If these three conditions have not been met, then you have not received a new order and should be very cautious when someone claims to have made a purchase from your Yaga shop.
As a Buyer there is no need to share your personal details via Yaga chat and you should click on "Item received" only once you've actually received the item and confirmed that you're happy with it.
You've most likely received a phishing message via Yaga chat if the user is doing one of these actions:
- Asking you to scan a QR-code
- Asking you to do the transaction outside of Yaga
- Claiming to be from Yaga support (Yaga support operates only via email)
- Asking you to verify something (e.g your account)
- Asking you to click/copy a link via Yaga chat and enter it to you web browser (Do not copy or enter suspicious links into your browser)
- Asking you to cover additional shipping costs via bank transfer
- Asking you to share/enter your personal details (Do not share your personal details via Yaga chat nor any other suspicious page)
- Reaching out to you via Whatsapp/other messengers (Yaga support operates only via email and NOT via whatsapp or any other messaging platforms)

If you are suspicious of a message you've received then don't hesitate to report it by clicking on the three dots at the top right corner of the users' profile or contact Yaga support by submitting a request.
